ProVal Tip: Make the Most of Historical Data!

Did you know…

When viewing your data in Spreadsheet Edit, you can use Historical Data to view fields from any other database without having to merge them in. This can be useful for comparing current and prior year databases, comparing pension and OPEB databases for the same population, or referencing beginning and end of period valuation data in your gain/loss individual results.

In addition, Historical Data can be referenced by certain data tools. Use Historical Data in Expression Sets or Define Field By Expression to set this year’s age equal to last year’s age plus one. Use Historical Data in Frequency Tables or Descriptive Statistics to get a data summary which spans multiple years of data.
